    Navy, Coast Guard, Marine and U.S. Customs and Border Protection vessels have crisscrossed a 644-square-mile swath of the Pacific Ocean centered about 50 miles west of San Diego and 15 miles east of San Clemente Island since the two aircraft collided in a ball of fire at 7:10 p.m. Thursday.
