Hugo was rescued from Hugo Mountain near Kotzebue several years ago by two men on snowmachines who found her with hundreds of porcupine quills embedded in her paws. She was severely dehydrated and malnourished and unable to walk or eat when brought to the center. (Anchorage Daily News)
