    In the Bahamas, New Providence Island has public buses that run between Nassau and most island points (and beaches) till 6:30 p.m. daily - it's $1 a ride. Barbados has extensive scheduled bus transportation as well as privately owned minibuses plying the same routes, most of which radiate out from Bridgetown and reach some of the island's most remote points - almost every beach on the island is within a five-minute walk of a bus stop.
