    Among such perennials are: Baja fairy duster, blackfoot daisy, globe mallow, goldeneye, jojoba, Mount Lemmon marigold, deer grass, desert spoon, moss verbena, Santa Rita prickly pear, and the many salvias. For larger shrubs that can also create privacy, there are hopbush, privet, Texas mountain laurel, Arizona rosewood, woolly butterfly bush, or the fragile-looking sweet-scented aloysia.     Rose Canyon campground open on Mt. Lemmon  Jul 21, 2009
    The Rose Canyon campground on Mount Lemmon opened for the summer season on April 15, and all of the other public campgrounds and picnic areas on the mountain will be open by the first week of May. Spencer Canyon campground, Showers Point and the Marshall Gulch picnic area will all open on Friday, April 25, while Whitetail group campground will open on Thursday, May 2. (FOX 11, AZ)

    Asteroid sheds light on dawning of solar system  Mar 27, 2009
    The asteroid itself was detected by the Catalina Sky Survey Telescope atop Mount Lemmon, north of Tucson. The instrument is one of three telescopes worldwide designed to find and track "near-Earth objects" of all sizes that appear on course to approach or actually hit the Earth.     A telescopic observer atop Mount Lemmon, Arizona, discovered this incoming chunk of rock on October 6th, and it slammed into the atmosphere over northern Sudan just 19 hours later. Since the 1970s astronomers have tracked down thousands of asteroids that might someday strike Earth this is the first discovery that actually did. (SkyAndTelescope.com)

    Scientists track an asteroid and match its remnants  Mar 26, 2009
    The asteroid was spotted on Oct. 5 at an observatory on Mount Lemmon in Arizona, by Richard Kowalski. He noticed a white dot moving on his computer screen and sent the coordinates to the Minor Planet Center at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. (International Herald Tribune -- Health)

    Winter Storm brings snow to Mount Lemmon  Feb 9, 2009
