Scaling glaciers in Colombia Jul 5, 2009
The ice sheet covering Ecuador's spectacular Cotopaxi Volcano has shrunk by one-third since 1976. In Colombia, the peaks in Los Nevados national park have already lost their year-round ice cap, while the Sierra Nevada del Cocuy's glaciers have receded to one-fifth of the length recorded in 1850.
